Medical cadets,

November is traditionally known as the month of gratitude. In this month, some of us gather together on Thanksgiving to celebrate family, friends and our many blessings. This month also commemorates family caregivers, Alzheimer’s awareness, cancer awareness (lung, prostate and pancreatic cancer), epilepsy awareness as well as diabetes awareness.

It is also the month that we celebrate our veterans and the great sacrifices that they have made. Some are currently living with injuries, both mental and physical, as a result of their time served in the military and beyond. Don’t forget to reach out to the veterans in your churches and communities and thank them for their service. Remember to inform 2LT Rebecca Alciné of your veteran contacts/outreaches. Also, when you see our general, Gen. Gordon Jones, don’t forget to salute him and thank him for his service, as he is a veteran too!

Let us endeavor to celebrate life this month by getting our necessary health screenings and doing everything in moderation. Remember our motto: Serve, serve, serve.
